I have been a student or faculty member at 8 universities over 56 years, but have never figured out what I wanted to be when I grew up. Columbia (English but didn't survive my first year, city planning, civil engineering, applied mathematics and mechanics); California Institute of Technology (applied math, mathematical physics, low temperature physics); U. Virginia (applied math, computer science, Soviet and East European Studies); Princeton (mathematics, public and international affairs); U. Chicago (economics); U. Arizona (MIS, Soviet and East European studies, Middle Eastern studies, history of computing); Stanford (international security, engineering economic systems, cyber security); Georgia Tech (international affairs, cyber security, history of technology and conflicts).
